The KitchenPOD is a transformative solution designed to uplift street food vendors with safe, sanitary, and energy-efficient spaces for food preparation and sales. Developed with local materials and culturally relevant methods, the KitchenPOD integrates a farm-to-table ecosystem, enabling sustainable livelihoods while promoting economic growth. This mobile kitchen unit innovates culinary solutions and facilitates food distribution, ensuring coherence in kitchen activities, simplicity in appliance selection, and mobility for easy transportation. It is designed to promote African cuisine and culture, fostering cultural exchange. Swiss-Kenyan entrepreneur Ms. Elizabeth Bischof is spearheading this initative as part of her African Centre promoting the trade of African commodities. The first beneficiaries may be the dynamic African diaspora in Bahrain who are well positionoed to promote African commodities in surrounding regions.
